Big Foot (3-3) at East Troy (7-0) – Game of the Week

Thursday, January 10th at 7:00 p.m.

East Troy enters this game with a lot of confidence and the only remaining unbeaten team in the Rock Valley North.  The Trojans are coming off an impressive win on Monday against Pewaukee (7-2), wining handily 72-55. Pewaukee a first place team in the Woodland conference was held to only 7 points in the first quarter by the Trojans.  Nate Dodge has a lot to do with the success of the Trojans; he is the second leading scorer in the conference averaging just under 18 points per game.

Big Foot is coming into Thursday night’s game looking to not drop back-to-back games as they lost a close game to Elkhorn 57-52.  Elkhorn led most of the game but Big Foot made a game of it in the fourth quarter almost finishing the comeback.  The Chiefs are sitting in the middle of the conference at 3-3 and could use a big win on the road.  There lead by sharp shooter Carter Hehr who leads the team in scoring with 11 points per game.

Clinton (5-2) at McFarland (6-1)

Thursday, January 10th at 7:00 p.m.

This is shaping up to be a great game as two very talented basketball powers face off.  McFarland tries to regain first place bragging rights atop the Rock Valley North and Clinton tries to keep first place dominance in the Rock Valley South with Beloit-Turner right behind them.

Clinton comes into this game with a commanding win over South Beloit on Saturday 86-53.  Cody Risseeuw a 6’5 forward is the key that runs that team averaging over 20 points per game and being one of the most dominate post players in the conference.  It won’t be an easy task though shutting down McFarland’s high-powered offense led by Cory Frank a 6’8 senior who dominates the paint.

McFarland already playing a game on Tuesday night, winning 54-42 against Madison Edgewood are happy this ones at home.  The win on Tuesday night gives McFarland a 5-0 record at home, making it a headache for any team that has to play there.  The only lose McFarland has in conference is to the East Troy Trojans, so every game is crucial for them to steal the top spot in the division.

Parkview (2-5) at Edgerton (5-2)

Thursday, January 10th at 7 p.m.

Parkview comes into this game struggling with a 2-5 record and not getting much production in the way of offense.  There last game resulted in a blow out lose to Clinton losing 66-43.  Parkview also doesn’t far well on the road with a 1-4 record away from home.  A lone bright spot on this Parkview roster is 6’4 Jameson Lavery, this senior guard leads the team with over 10 points per game and 4 assists.  They will need a lot of Lavery in order to take down a great Edgerton team.

Edgerton holding a current 5-2 record feels that they should be 5-1 because of a one-point loss at the buzzer to Milton on Tuesday night, 51-50.  The Crimson Tide won’t back down lightly though; with a record that is in the middle of the pack Edgerton needs to keep pace with McFarland and East Troy for a chance at the division championship.  The leading scorer for the Crimson Tide is 6’4 Adam Converse, a power forward that is currently averaging 12.5 points per game.  He was the leading scorer for Edgerton in there lose to Milton with 15 points.
