Upcoming Games for Rock Valley North/South This Week

Beloit–Turner (5-5) at East Troy (10-0)  - Game of the Week

Thursday, January 24th 7 p.m.

East Troy is perfect in the conference sitting with an undefeated record and control of the Rock Valley North Conference.  The Trojans seem to be on cruise control, having won their last game vs. Evansville 76-35.  Nate Dodge the second leading scorer in the conference must feel good that he has the 6’7 Prahl brothers down low to feed the ball too.  The Trojans look to keep their undefeated streak going as they take on a very talented Beloit-Turner team that has a lot of quick scorers their the roster.

Beloit-Turner comes into this game with a bad taste in their mouth, losing a close game to Parkview (3-7), 58-55.  The Titans started out the season strong but have since come back down to earth losing their last 2 games.  Nothing would turn their second half slump around more than beating and undefeated Trojans team.  Anthony Payton a quick, slashing guard for the Titans will be the player to watch in this matchup, averaging 12 points per game.

Clinton (8-2) at Edgerton (8-2)

Thursday, January 24th 7 p.m.

Clinton looks to be in the drivers seat leading the Rock Valley South Conference, with only Beloit-Turner far behind.  The Cougars are coming off a run away game last Friday beating Brodhead 83-45, holding them to single digit scoring in the 2nd and 3rd quarter.  Cody Risseeuw is the big man at Clinton, not only is he 6’5 but he also is the leading scorer on the team averaging over 20 points per game.  The matchup in the post with Risseeuw and Adam Converse from Edgerton should be a must watch.

Edgerton sits with an 8-2 record, with no breathing room at all, trying to keep pace with McFarland and East Troy in the conference.  The Crimson Tide had a great win last week against Jefferson winning by over 20 points, 55-31.  This looks to be a great game against the Cougars as both teams have dominant big men.  Adam Converse is averaging 13 points for the Crimson Tide and the offense runs through him first.  The matchup between him and Cory Risseeuw the leading man for Clinton will be a big factor in the game.
