Janesville Parker just cant catch a break. The Vikings continued their woes by loosing the teams 11th conference game in a row and remain defeated on the year. Beloit Memorial beat the Vikings 75-62 in a game that started off on an exciting note with a 22-20 start to the game at the end of the 1st quarter, but after the opening quarter it was really all Beloit Memorial after that. Memorial scored 45 points in the 2nd and 3rd quarters combined compared to just 16 for the Vikings. Despite Parker scoring 26 points in the last frame, Janesville remains winless in conference play after the 75-62 loss. Andre Neal (Jr. F) led all scorers in that game with 19 points on the night.

Sun Prairie continued to assert their dominance on the Big 8 conference by beating up on a very good Janesville Craig Cougars team on Thursday night in a 77-48 affair. Sun Prairie scored 50 points in the first half and lead by 28 at the break. The Cardinals played most of their reserves in the second half. Nick Noskowiak (Jr. G) was the high scorer with 18 points in the contest. This marks the first game this season that Nick Fuller (Sr. G) has nott led the team in scoring, and marks the first game all season long that Fuller has not scored over 20 points, he finished with 13. Sun Prairie remains in second place after the win and this sets up for a goliath matchup with Madison Memorial next Friday night, both teams sit at first and second in the conference standings.

In the weeks most exciting game in the Big 8. Middleton edged out Madison East 81-79 in an overtime thriller. Really a tail of two different halves, Middleton lead at the break 41-26, but Madison East outscored Middleton 49-34 in the second half to send the game into overtime. There was only 10 total points scored in the five minute overtime but the six points by Middleton were enough to earn the victory, Kade Schultz (Sr. F) scored 18 points for the Cardinals, all off three pointers, but the leading scorer was De’shawn Burks for the Purgolders as he finished with 23 points. Middleton now sits a game ahead of Madison La Follette for third place in the Big 8.

Madison La Follette moved up in the Big 8 rankings to fourth place after defeating the Verona Wildcats 64-58. Mitch Flora (Sr. F) was the leading scorer in the game with 23 points for the wildcats but his effort just wasn’t quite enough for the victory. La Follette outscored Verona 39-29 in the second half after trailing at the half 29-25. Again, La Follette is now in fourth place after the win, and the Madison East loss this week.
