The Prep Corner Player of the Week

Patrick Whalen - Outfielder (Beloit Memorial)

Whalen is still leading the Big Eight Conference in hitting for the fourth straight week with 31 hits. Beloit Memorial has fallen to fourth place in the standings but look to make up ground as the season continues. In a recent win Tuesday against Madison Memorial, Whalen went 3-4 with two doubles and a triple. His heavy bat will be relied on if Memorial wants to make a push for the Big Eight Crown.

Andy Brahier- Infielder (Jefferson)

Brahier is a first time recipient of The Prep Corner player of the week and deservedly so. He has racked up 27 RBI this season, leading the Rock Valley North and his Jefferson Eagles in that statistic. Jefferson is currently in first place with a 14-3 record, looking to repeat as Rock Valley North Champs. Andy not only is a great hitter but one of the ace pitchers on their roster, he owns a 5-1 record, with a 2.31 ERA. He is an all around player that is counted heavily on by the Eagles to make a deep post season run.
